How can I increase my energy level through yoga?

Our most basic source of energy is oxygen, which we intake through breathing.
For us to inhale, our chest needs to expand. An upright chest expands easier than a caved in chest. Yoga helps us build the upright posture to allow our lungs to expand easily so we can intake more oxygen.

Also, for our chest to expand, the muscles all around the rib cage - front, back, sides, and deep inside - need to stretch. Tight muscles in these areas will restrict the lung’s ability to expand. Yoga helps us develop flexibility all around our rib cage so our lungs can expand more. Then we can intake even more oxygen.

The difference in energy level over one breath may be hardly noticeable. But, we take around 24,000 breaths per day. Think about how much difference that will make.
