Mark

Growing up, Mark enjoyed playing sports. He trained his body very hard in order to play well. Without proper guidance, the intense training caused his body to develop many pains and aches. So he embarked on a journey of health studies and body healing.

To develop his knowledge, he completed a Bachelor degree in Physical Education and Health at University of Toronto in 2012. At the same period, he also completed a diploma and started practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist. Through working with various clients, he noticed that most of the pains and body aches we experience stem from how we misuse our body in our daily lives.

Yet he did not find a powerful answer to my pains until he went on a Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India in 2016. Through practicing yoga, he grasped a much deeper understanding of the interconnections between different parts and layers of the body. By practicing simple yoga poses that counteract the movements of our repetitive daily tasks, we can restore the natural balance in the body. When the body is balanced, tension is relieved, and pain will be naturally dissipated.

Yoga brought meaningful changes to his body, mind and life. He wants to help you to achieve the same. Even if you think you can’t, he can help you find the right place to start comfortably. He is experienced in guiding even the most inflexible students. He looks forward to guiding you to become a healthier you.

Elizabeth

Elizabeth stumbled (literally) into yoga during her teens after suffering from an injured hamstring. She joined a yoga class with an Instructor who was strong, flexible, vibrant...and 75 years old. Elizabeth immediately vowed that she wanted to “be just like her when I grow up”, instead of resigning herself to a lifelong pattern of pain, helplessness, and likely medication. Ever since, Elizabeth has continued to prioritize wellness to support both her present and future self.

Elizabeth has been an active yoga practitioner, both on and off the mat, since 2002. She completed her 300hr of certified training as a Registered Yoga Teacher, certified by YogaFit Canada and registered with Yoga Alliance. Elizabeth specializes in trauma-informed yoga, offering a safe and inclusive yoga experience for all participants. She continues to study trauma intervention, meditation, pranayama, ayurveda, and other yoga modalities that promote balance and wellbeing, “sattva”, for herself and everyone she teaches.
