How can I relieve my body pain through yoga?
Pain comes from muscles and tissues that are overstretched. It is our body’s natural warning signal that if stretched further, they may tear and lead to injury. Try curling your fingers very hard. No pain. Try bending your fingers back very hard. You will feel pain in the inner surface of your fingers. This is because that surface is being overstretched.
Ignore the signal, a big issue will break out down the road. Respond to the signal, you can prevent the big issue with very little effort. The fix is simple. We just need to do a few yoga poses that correct the posture of our body so that the muscles become not over-stretched.
We get upper back pain from sitting at a desk because we hunch forward. When we hunch forward, the muscles in the upper back are constantly over-stretched. So they scream in pain.
To fix this we just need to do a few yoga poses that counter the problematic posture. If the upper back is hunched forward, we work on bending it backwards. When the posture is balanced and the upper back muscles are no longer over-stretched, pain is naturally eliminated.
